in 2015, Musto was the recipient of the Bowl of Hygeia Award. Established in 1958, the Bowl of Hygeia Award recognizes pharmacists who possess outstanding records of civic leadership in their communities and encourages pharmacists to take active roles in their communities.
Musto contributes to both his professional community and hometown of Smyrna. As a pharmacist at Atlantic Apothecary, Kevin provides medication counseling, diabetic and cholesterol screenings, immunizations, medication compounding, and medication packaging services to his patients. Musto and his staff strongly believe in the importance of medication adherence support, especially for their patients who are managing multiple conditions with unique medication regimens.
Kevin works with Delaware Public Health as the Strategic National Stockpile Coordinator and has developed bioterrorism awareness trainings. He regularly assists Delaware Emergency Management Agency with distribution of potassium iodide. He is an active member of the Delaware Pharmacists Society, and in 2004 he established Delaware Pharmacists Educational Center, a non-profit organization which provides scholarships to student pharmacists.
Kevin represents Delaware annually at the American Pharmacists Association House of Delegates to debate and adopt policy proposals impacting the practice of pharmacy. He works with Smyrna Police Department to host periodic drug take-back events which encourage proper medication disposal.
Additionally, he was recognized in 2013 as Civic Leader of the Year at the Next-Generation Pharmacist Awards and in 2012 Atlantic Apothecary was announced McKesson Regional Pharmacy of the Year.
